New DAREDEVIL Trailer Kicks Ass and Takes Your Frickin' Name Down!!!

Hey folks, Harry here.... Once we were lost, now we're found. This trailer kicks all sorts of ass and I dig it. Given the script and the storyboards, I had hopes for this film... However, it seems that they are nailing with railroad spikes the action as detailed in those Storyboards, and when we see it all cut together, ewwwww Nellie, I'm talking Depends for everybody in the house! I know this story is dark, that the risks are deep and that Michael Clarke Duncan talking as the Kingpin actually worked for me just now. I'm dying to see this again, so I'll leave you to the trailer... Adios companeros!

Why does this trailer get me so jazzed? Probably the same reason I'm willing to bet it gets Kevin Smith jazzed when he sees it. We've read the script.

Now, I liked SPIDER-MAN tons, have the dvd sitting right here in front of me, but the one complaint that I have about the Spidey flick is that it isn't THE GREAT SPIDEY FLICK. While it was a wonderful start... One helluva way to kick it off, the great SPIDER-MAN stories have not even begun to be told. While I enjoy the film, love the adaptation... There will always be a part of me that wishes that on that bridge, the girl in peril had blonde hair and was named Stacy. That she died. That Spidey beat the Goblin, but is depressed at the end of the film, when the doorbell rings, "Face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot!" fade to black. That's just me. That's what I wanted deep down, but what I got was a damn good SPIDER-MAN story... that unfortunately wasn't the great story I hoped they would give me. Enter Michael Chabon and the second SPIDER-MAN movie... hope is still there. And at the very least the second Spidey will kick our asses, simply because... we know it will.

This DAREDEVIL film, however, is a horse of a different color. Unlike the BATMAN films, SUPERMAN films, BLADE films or even the SPIDER-MAN film... This is an actual adaptation of the greatest story arc of the character in question. And the particular story that this is an adaptation of happens to be one of the great Comic Book stories... PERIOD!

Just to kinda remind you folks about things. There's a reason Kevin Smith has been so supportive of this film and it has shit to do with him getting a cameo. It's the script. He's read it. He's seen Ben in the character for some of the harder emotional scenes... none of which are in this Action FUN trailer. Here we don't see the blood. Here we don't see the agony. But it's coming, and it's coming in a film with characters that have lighter moments at the beginning and plunge into a place that you don't even want to be at. The action in this trailer is directly off the storyboards... they shot the storyboards. You have no idea how awesome this is going to be. I'm giddy. Here's Kevin Smith's old post about visiting the set and watching his buddy Ben in action!
