Good News About The US Remake Of THE OFFICE'!

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...

I refuse to accept that lightning can strike twice in the case of this show. It just doesn’t work that way. THE OFFICE is brilliant and original and perfectly cast in every role. In particular, how do you replace a freak like Ricky Gervais?

Well... maybe... just maybe...

Moriarty and/or Herc,

RE: The Office, US Version. All doubters can now be silent. As someone who WORSHIPS the original BBC show, and was only looking forward to the US Version with dread, I can now say I am a bit more than optimistic. Ricky Gervais has been hinting for months that he thought he knew someone that would be the perfect David Brent for the US version. And now it can finally be revealed: Steve Carell, formerly of The Daily Show. He was also the the only reason to watch Bruce Almighty or that short-lived series from that Seinfeld chick. He's got awesome comic chops. Anyone who is a fan of the Daily Show can tell you what a brilliant bit of casting this could turn out to be.

SEE THE DETAILS HERE!!

Is it me, or is Carell actually a good choice? Like, maybe even the perfect choice? I watched him work all afternoon on the set of ANCHORMAN, and he’s a gifted improve comic, able to react to anything and make it funny, and he frequently broke up the entire assembled cast, which included at least a dozen comedians on the day I was there. Carell’s DAILY SHOW appearances are magnificent and bizarre, and he even managed to make the otherwise-awful BRUCE ALMIGHTY funny for a few minutes.

But, seriously... this can’t work... can it?

"Moriarty" out.
