Quick Glimpse Of ONE HOUR PHOTO!!

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

As I said in my recent piece about Robin Williams and his upcoming roles, I am freakin' dying to see this film by Mark Romanek. I love this script, and I think the film has a chance at being something special. Wish I'd known there was a screening last night. I would have put my henchmen to work. Anyway, Brodie's Dixie Cup made it in, and here's what he has to say. It's a quick review, but gives us an idea of what he thought...

word up, this is brodie's dixie cup with some news from a test screening... i just saw one hour photo at a test screening in palos verdes, california. the audience seemed to be a little mixed..but overall it seemed to have a pretty good response from the audience. i liked it. robin williams was this guy who works in this photo shop and pretty much it's his whole life...he knows everything about photos pretty much. he runs a machine and he knows when it's color levels are off. he is obsessed with this family who always brings in pictures. he is obsessed with the family and they seem to be the family he never had growing up. the film moves slowly for a reason...so we get to understand this character better. some people might think that sucks for one reason or another and will feel the film show have moved a lot faster. the same people who complain about this film moving too slowly are going to be the same ones who felt that unbreakable was slow. i felt the film moved fairly quickly. i never got bored...which is good. he keeps the photos of this family up on a wall in his house. when they get photos developed, he develops his own set...so that's how that works. when hundreds of photos developed on the machine are never accounted for, sy (robin williams) gets fired. so his whole life is pretty much over...since developing photos was not just his occupation, but also his life....so it sucked for him a lot. on his last day he discovers a set of photos which show the husband of the family he is obsessed with having an affair with a co-worker. sy cannot believe that this man with this perfect life that he never had was being thrown away. sy is pissed and this is where he pretty much goes from just creepy to demented. I'm not going to go any furthur than this because honestly when you're watching the film you're not sure whether sy is going to do something to his family, the girl the husband is having an affair with, the husband, or many other possibilities...and that's part of the fun of this movie. Great performances from everyone...and Mark Ramenek or whatever his name is did a pretty awesome job directing. the film ran about 2 hours long. they said it was a very early work print...however i could see this film being released today and not having any problems. awesome film that's definately going to be worth checking out when it hits theaters.
