About That CATWOMAN Review...

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

Let it never be said that I can't admit a mistake.

When I ran BossHog's review of the CATWOMAN script yesterday, a very important mistake was made. I neglected to confirm that it was, in fact, the most recent draft that he had read.

Seems that what he reviewed was the Kate Kondell revision of the Theresa Rebeck script that was written a year ago. In the words of one of the many people who wrote me from in or around the CATWOMAN camp, the Kondell script is "a major shitbomb."

John Rogers is the writer who just turned in a draft of the script last week, and by all accounts, he's made major progress in turning this into a film worth putting in front of the cameras. As I said, I was contacted by several people who are associated with the film on the Warner Bros. side, and they were all indignant that I would, even by omission, suggest that the synopsis that ran here yesterday reflects the script the way it is right now. Word is the set pieces really crackle now, and the script has a much stronger sense of character and action overall.

I have no idea if Rogers reads AICN, or if anyone who does would pass word to Rogers, but I'd like to apologize directly to him for my mistake, and to those who are working with him to make sure that if CATWOMAN ends up in front of a camera, it will be something worthwhile. I'll certainly give them the benefit of the doubt based on the passion they demonstrated in defending the project to us today.

"Moriarty" out.
