* “The Jay Leno Show” exited primetime at a 1.7, its 2nd lowest 18-49 Tuesday rating ever. Only the Christmas-week “Leno” was lower. By contrast, Conan O’Brien’s exit from “The Tonight Show” scored a 4.8 at 11:35 p.m. In fact, the “Leno Show” premiere was the only episode that beat Conan’s finale:

* ABC’s “The Forgotten” is showing signs of life for the first time in months, with “Lost” giving it a bigger lead-in than “Dancing With The Stars” and a much, much bigger lead-in than the “Scrubs”/”Better Off Ted” combo.

* “Idol,” predictably, went up with Ellen DeGeneres’ debut as a permanent judge.

* A special post-“Idol” launch for “Past Life” hit 3.1, short of the 3.3 a repeat of “Human Target” did in that slot a few weeks ago and well short of the 3.8 earned by “Kitchen Nightmares” in that slot last week. Look for “Past Life” to be eviscerated in its regular 9 p.m. Thursday slot.

* “NCIS Los Angeles” was weirdly strong, matching lead-in “NCIS” for the first time despite the increased competition from “Lost.”

* Coming after the unusually strong “NCIS LA,” “Good Wife” matched its season high. Blame those Super Bowl promos!

* Without having to compete with “Lost” at 10 p.m., USA’s “White Collar” reversed its slide.

* Oxygen’s “Bad Girls Club” enjoyed a similar post-“Lost” rebound, matching its season high in 18-49.
