Grace Park will play rookie Hawaii Five-O member Kona Kalakaua in CBS’ new “Hawaii Five-0” pilot.

Reminiscent of Park’s participation on “Battlestar Galactica,” her new role is presumably a reimagining of Kono Kalakaua, a male member of the Five-0 squad played between 1968 and 1972 by Gilbert “Zulu” Kauhi.

On “Galactica” Park played Boomer, a reimagining of the male character played by Herb Jefferson Jr. from 1978 to 1979.

In the new “Five-0” Kalakuau is the niece of Chin Ho Kelly, played in this version by “Lost” vet Daniel Dae Kim.

The only major character still uncast is that that of detective Danny Williams, source of Five-0 chief Steve McGarrett’s signature sign-off “Book him, Danno.”

Alex O'Loughlin (“Moonlight,” “Three Rivers”) plays McGarrett; Taryn Manning (“8 Mile,” “Sons of Anarchy”) plays McGarrett’s kid sister, Mary Ann.

The series, which like the CBS original will follow a fictional Hawaiian state police agency, is overseen by writer-producers Peter Lenkov (“CSI: NY”) and Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman (co-creators of “Fringe” and writers of last year’s “Star Trek” movie).
