Patrick Fugit - aka "the kid in ALMOST FAMOUS - will join Debra Messing ("Grace" from WILL & GRACE) in the ABC pilot WRIGHT VS. WRONG. Evident;y he's playing another writer.
"Wrong" centers on Evelyn Wright (Messing), a driven conservative pundit who tries to maintain her public persona despite facing her own vulnerabilities. In his first regular TV gig, Fugit is set to play her contributing writer, a liberal NYU graduate.
This pilot is an interesting move for Fugit, who was very perfect in Cameron Crowe's roundly excellent ALMOST FAMOUS,. He's been visible since that film (a guest stint on E.R., an appearance on HOUSE, along with a few other roles) but he's kept a considerably lower profile than, for example, Messing. Jumping into a series...provided this gets actually picked up...would do a lot towards pushing him further into the mainstream spotlight.
