But I would still prefer Faith the Vampire Slayer. There I said it. I know the Buffy thing is dead and buried, but I can't help but think that it would have a bigger audience than this. Buffy and Angel still have a huge active following, why not tap into that but change the premise enough to encourage new viewers. Oh well, I guess I am not a TV exec for a reason.

How many times can one station be burned by cancellations and time slot abuse? Arrested Development was bounced around the schedule like a ping-pong ball. Futureama was never taken seriously, Firefly was aired wildly out of order and went on to sell a lot of DVD's and spawned a movie. Wonderfalls actually grew it's fanbase. At some point you have to sit back and go "gee, maybe it's us."

why? Although I do agree with BoggyCreekBeast that the AI crowd is probably not the same as those who would watch Fringe. Anyway, gotham_night, Dollhouse is airing before 24, not after. And if you think it sounds like the OC, you haven't read the premise and have no idea what Whedon's shows are like. That said, I kind of agree with you that the two are an odd pairing. I guess the action would be the link? Looking forward to a lot on this schedule (esp Dollhouse and SD,SU). I'll hope for the best with Fringe, but the concept sounds pretty tired to me. Let's hope the talent behind it can make it work.

Dollhouse doesn't sound amazing, but with Whedon it's always the characters not the story that make the show so I'm not too worried.

I hope teaming Terminator with Prison Break isn't a bad move, as PB hasn't been exactly firing on all cylinders ratings wise, even though I do love it.

Hopefully pairing Dollhouse with 24 will work. I actually think Dollhouse might have worked better with PB and Terminator with 24 but we'll have to wait and see.

check out what the Hollywood reporter has to say on advertising in both Dollhouse and Fringe: "Both "Fringe" and "Dollhouse" would have network commercial loads of about five minutes per hour, about half the usual. The commercial pods also would be shorter, and they would have about half the promo load as well, all to enhance the viewing experience. Liguori and ad sales chief Jon Nesvig acknowledged that there was a risk but that the network was committed to doing those two shows that way." Sounds good to me.

But if JarJar and company start lurching as impulses yank their chains, the descent into crap will occur.

I can just hear Abrams pitch for THE FRINGE now...
by Big Dumb Ape
May 16th, 2008

..."It's a long drawn out mystery with long drawn out clues. It's like LOST, only this time the plane doesn't crash on an island - it lands at a major airport! But the people are dead just the same!"

I'll echo what others have said here and before: Abrams seems to be a good concept man, but his shows go vary widely in quality dependent on who is turning in that week's script or even if Abrams has stepped out of the way. I'll give it a try, but frankly it just sounds like a stereotypical Hollywood pitch by someone ALREADY in the system -- and thus he's considered bankable (whether that's true or not) -- at which point they start gluing things together. In this case, the pitch was simple: It's LOST glued to X-FILES.

As for DOLLHOUSE I'm willing to try ANYTHING that brings back the Dush and that delicious tush!

As for 24 coming back...

After the hiatus it's been on, it had BETTER be a top notch season. And I'm talking one that is tightly plotted and written and directed like 24 in its prime.

That show has A LOT to make up to the fans given how truly SHITTY the last go-round was!

Appears to only showcases the first standalone mystery, not an overall story arc, probably because there isn't one. Yeah, there's expensive looking images in that trailer, but the Dollhouse trailer shows us there's an actual story in there. So far, Dollhouse still seems way more interesting, even minus the flashy FX that Fringe has.
