Just copy the writer's deal and move on. Otherwise, everyone will be seeing programming with Argentinian talent flooding the airwaves. As it is, many commercials are shot outside of the US and Canada due to SAG rates being too high to work with.
Have they made a deal with AFLAC yet?

I've got BBC America, Big Brother and a shitload of DVDs in my collection, let alone tons that I've never got around to picking up yet. Did these Film Actors Guild morons learn nothing from the WGA strike?

Does that mean if SAG strikes that Reaper will still be shot? If so if there is a strike I hope they order a full season.I love this show.
It's the whole film clips angle that seems to irk people

Problem is, even SAG does get what it wants do you think it will do any good? If you're a minor actor and you refuse to let the clip be used and you screw something up do you think you'll be working again? Plus it just seems impractical to have to ask permission from eveyone every single time.
Herc...

What the fuck? You write, "The Screen Actors Guild (SAG), which split from AFTRA in its negotiations and covers the bulk of major-studio features and scripted primetime series, has still not worked out a new AMPTP contract to replace the one that expires June 30." That is a total fucking lie! SAG did NOT "split" from the negotiations. The producers guild ended the negotiations without SAG's knowledge. SAG wanted to continue negotiations, but the producers obviously didn't. They wanted to manipulate SAG with the weaker union known as AFTRA, just like they did with the DGA and the WGA. Any true fan of coaxial should support SAG and the WGA. These people create TV shows and movies that we all love. Why not show them the same respect that we show their product. And, yes, the producers put up the money and thus make it all possible, but the producers also take the biggest piece of the pie! These are very rich men who want to be more rich. This is greed conpounded exponentially. And, no, I don't want there to be another strike. That would suck. But, lying (or even just mis-speaking) about the actual negotiations between two unions is just plain wrong. Herc, always do the right thing.
For fuck's sake

Seriously, Hollywood. This isn't going to help anything. Get off your asses and make a deal ASAP.
I don't think SAG will accept a deal like the writers

viacom has just filed a multimillion dollar suit against google/youtube for not scrubbing the site fast enuf of clips...not full epis mind you...just clips...but the aftra agreement states that the actors are to recieve no compensation for clips used online...and the compensation for dvd/bluray sux just as much....i dont know if the membership is gonna accept this, and for the life of me, i dont get why aftra split from sag on the negotiations
Yeti...they can get more...more

unlike the wga strike, which many production companies were still able to work around...any strike by sag or aftra shuts down everything, and reaches to all levels of the entertainment field...why the producers want to stick it to everyone is beyond me

"Yeah, we want more mon-ey oof the Inter-net, bud-day!!" Lame. Mass audiences don't give a fuck about your labour struggles, Hollywood. You keep striking, you simply won't get viewers back, so choke on that.

barely make a living wage...while the studios that employ them, and the fat fucks who call themselves producers live large and high on the hog...why is everyone so quick to rush to support the corporatists, who only exist to suck the lifeblood out of the truly creative....i say strike..shut hollywood down...fight the power...of course, there wont be any picket lines cuz none of the actors will be able to afford the gas to get there
Vast Majority of Actors Don't Work Either

There's a number of factors. Too many people for not enough roles. Lack of Skill. Lack of Talent. Bad luck. Lack of connections. Acting has never been that lucrative a profession, we just happen to see the exception to the rule most often. There are probably more people making a living ripping actors off then there are actors making a living. Don't get me wrong, I don't have much love for execs either, mainly because they seem to have no idea how movies work and instead trust in marketing.
