The film sounds great, but the first reviewer seems to suffer from Harry's problem of including crass sexual references in place of humor or charm. Seriously if you are ever tempted to use oral sex references to describe a film, you have a problem if you admit it or not.

With Kung Fu Panda and Wall-e opening so close to each other I all of the sudden don't even want to see Kung Fu Panda anymore. AICN you had me yesterday, but now I realize how dumb America is. I hope Wall-e doesn't get beat by Panda. In the end I'll probably see both, so far every movie I've seen this year has been amazing, I still don't know why everyone was so up in arms about how great 07 was, because 08 is kicking its ass.

If this is another Hollywood attempt to fight global warming (when Hollywood is one of the greatest culprits), then I just hope that they do it with tact. More subtle Bushisms? Sheeeesh. I think that Hollywood will continue its obsession with hating Bush long after Barack Hussein Obama is gone and the nation's Democrats are asking, "WHAT THE HELL WERE WE THINKING?!?" I've read a script review at another website (not entirely sure about its accuracy), and it did sound a bit "preachy." One guy went so far as to say that it is a subtle environmentalist film along the lines of HAPPY FEET. I niece didn't want to eat fish for a few days (fishermen are bad guys) and she even through away her Sea Lion stuffed animal (from SeaWorld) because of how the Sea Lion was depicted in that film (a cruel, penguin-eating animal). That being said -- I can't wait for this film! Both of these reviews sound extremely promising. I cried during FINDING NEMO, loved THE INCREDIBLES, laughed during RATATOUILLE, and tried desperately to enjoy CARS (with much difficulty). I am hoping that they can pull this off. If this even remotely resembles FINDING NEMO, THE INCREDIBLES or either of the TOY STORY films -- then it will make a fortune. If the script resembles CARS, A BUG'S LIFE or even RATATOUILLE -- then it may only perform so-so at the Box Office. Regardless, I am crossing my fingers. I just hope that the film avoids needless stereotypes. It seems that the only individuals that remain "politically correct" for Hollywood to poorly stereotype are conservatives, christians, southerners and NASCAR fans.

Yeah -- the IRON GIANT! That was a TERRIFIC film! It was the last great traditional cartoon (if you ask me). It was nearly flawless! I wonder how well it would have done as a PIXAR film? Good stuff...and a sad indication of how difficult that it has been to find good, honest creativity in Hollywood.

I believe that the "worst comedian" is "Larry the Cable Guy", who voices Mater the tow truck in "Cars". Regarding the quality of "Cars" compared to other Pixar offerings, I don't think it's as good as "Incredibles", but it's certainly one of the best. My two-year old loves it, and the more I've watched it, the more I've grown to appreciate its quality.

Amongst an almost endless stream of perfect films. I rank "Cars" around A Bug's Life, but Ratatouille I rank above it, if for no other reason than Patton Oswalt and Peter O'Toole. Still, there's a lot to love about Cars, from the classic cartoon nostalgia of anthropomorphic cars to Paul Newman as The Judge. And there was nothing wrong with 'Mater, unless your the stuck up, shallow hipster type who frequently finds themselves "too good, too smart, too superior". What makes a movie is how watchable it is . . . and there was lots of great stuff in Cars. But when you're the company that has made so many great films (not to mention the best superhero movie of all time, The Incredibles), you are held to an awfully high standard. Folks were predicting that Ratatouille would be Pixar's first flop . . . and it tore up the box office. Wall*E will out-perform Ratatouille domesitcally and internationally. This, I predict.

The Incredibles is just the best super hero film ever made, and for geeks, that's important. I understand it. I have watched the incredibles several more times than Finding Nemo. Still, it doesn't mean Finding Nemo isn't a great film. It just ain't The Incredibles. But most things are The Incredibles. And I wish Pixar had an Incredibles sequel on the roster, because they created such a huge, wonderful comic book world that I want more. More! More than I want Cars 2, which is on the roster.

I've probably watched it 30-40 times in the last 6 months and I actually enjoy it more now than when I first watched it. The storyline with Doc and Lightning has a lot of heart. Also the theme of disappearing towns to make way for progress is very sincere. I no longer rank Cars among my lowest Pixar movies (that's reserved for Bugs, which IS devoid of heart and I could probably only watch once every few months at best). I wish people wouldn't knee-jerk hate on Cars. I for one am looking forward to the sequel.

Even though Larry is the spawn of dumb, he was very well casted and pretty funny in that movie (mainly because that character was literally portraying a metally retarded person). I think Nemo is my least favorite Pixar movie, thats probably why its the biggest. It was way too predictable and not as funny as any of the other ones. But as far as worst voice casting goes, it was Patton Oswald. Pixar is lightyears ahead of Dreamworks in its voice casting because they can sell a movie without big names unlike dreamworks. But I just didn't feel Patton worked, probably because out of all the casting they've done he has been the least experienced everyone else has been around for awhile and are passable on screen. Patton is a terrible actor, funny guy but a terrible actor.

Thus, anybody could not shop at Wal-Mart, if they so chose. The blame (if you want to call it that) rests with the folks doing the consuming. ...so direct all your hate about that blowjob line right at this guy. Honestly it wasn't meant as any sort of Cumpston/Harry-esque riff, and I didn't think it was particularly vulgar. The only reason it's in there is because that's how I talk pretty much all the time. Anyway what's important is that this movie is a jaw-dropping achievement both technically and thematically, and everyone here should see it at all costs. But really, reviews like these are redundant, because you pretty much knew it would be this good. OH, AND ALSO,I just got back from interviewing Andrew Stanton (which was the reason for last night's screening), and he said the reason for the live action was because WALL*E watches a clip from "Hello Dolly" — which didn't even occur to me because I'm a moron who can't put two and two together — and since Stanton had to use a clip from the actual film, he decided that, for consistency's sake, he would make all recorded video live action (kind of like "Tom Goes To The Mayor").

This, Dark Knight, and Quantum of Solace are the blockbusters I'm most looking forward to this year. As for Cars, I think it may be the least of Pixar's films, but I still had a good time with it. The flick may drag a bit and it may rely too much on pop-culture humor, but it does have heart, which is more than you can say for any of the Shrek films.

I saw this film in the theater when it was first released. It was the 2nd film of a double bill (the first film was Soylent Green.) Anyways, my brothers wanted to leave after Soylent Green. Luckily we stayed for Silent Running. As much as a enjoyed Soylent Green it was Silent Running that won my heart that day. I was just a young kid and this was the first film that really moved me. It made me think about bigger things. And yes I cried. I MUST see this film again. And Wall-E sounds awesome!

The biggest issue I have with Wal Mart is their great value crap, they everyone eats up and it helps to undermine competition. Little known fact: The larger meat packers of the late 19th early 20th century were the ones pushing for government regulation, because they knew they could absorb the added cost of the regulation, but their smaller competition could not and would drive them out of the market- all while the government got to look like it was protecting consumers - when it really was planting the seeds for the modern corporation. Back on topic: I've been looking forward to Wall-E for a while now as one of my "must-see" films. My only concern is not that it will comment on consumerism (it needs to be discussed) but rather that the movie may indicate that the solution lies with an authority figure, instead of people freely choosing to change their behavior patterns. Pixar has never been heavy handed in it's messages, however so I'm thinking my concerns will probably be moot.

My favorite pixar to date is "Finding nemo" with "the incredibles" a close second. I say that because everything they make is solid, 100% pure entertainment gold. "Cars" may be considered the weakest, but it's still blows away 90% of the movies out there. If any animated movie is ever to get the "best picture" Oscar, Pixar will do it. Wall-E will own. MY favorite movie as a kid. Does not age well compared to the tight script and fun of Back to the Future 1. It was a little too hard for the average moviegoer to follow but it' main fault is that there's few relatable lovable characters. I don't think Wall-E will suffer this problem

How do you compare movies that deal with ideas like suppression of individuality (Incredibles), artistic ethics (Ratatouille) Parental abandonment (Toy Story II), with the average subject matter typically seen in your average CGI animated film? Now they've made one mostly free of verbal dialog and that's somehow pandering to the masses? How many films celebrating artistic integrity (Ratatouille) have you been witness to as examples of "pandering" to what people are demanding to see? You know a lot of people begging for stories about rats in kitchens with astute opinions on food as an art form? Wouldn't pandering look something more like, I dunno, making only sequels to their most successful, proven stories, like "the Incredibles" which gets the most fan support for a sequel - and which had the highest action quotient?

As industry folks and critics alike have said: Pixar has elevated the animation as a form, and they are excellent story tellers. There is no comparison to most other animation as it's simply not as sophisticated in almost every measurable way. To try to drag down Pixars extremely successful and critically acclaimed body of work into populist dreck is not only erroneous, but a gross oversimplification and sour grapes for the sake of making a strawman argument. I totally dismiss that attitude as useless, and unfounded. The above few post make my point for me.

OHHHH ITS JOHNNY FIVE boners. First off, really? Does this movie look anything like Short Circuit? Also it doesn't talk. Also I think Harry and Co already addressed this, that sort of looking type of robot dates way back past Short Circuit in real life. Plus for those of you how are above KIDDIE movies, every pixar movie is loaded with nostalgic movie references so I bet thats part of Wall-E's look. I could really care less about any movie this summer save for this one. I've been beging the theater people to give me the big wall-e cut out or huge ass banner they have or poster or ANYTHING! I took too long and they say they already have a list and the dumb lady wouldn't put me on it (even though the list is only 2 deep). I even tried to bribe her but she wouldn't budge. Shit $20 is pretty good for a movie poster that doesn't even belong to you. They had this kick ass Silver Surfer Satue poster and Simpsons couch last year they raffled off and they both went for over $500. Shit if they get something that cool for Wall-E, I know I got $500 I will throw down...... wait this movie is anti materialism.

Bob should have ditched his loser family for Mirage. It should have ended with Bob filing for divorce and leaving Helen with three superpowered kids to raise by herself. Why is it some people only identify quality in art when it's showing the seedy side of life, and insist that anything that falls outside of that gritty, depressing reality can't possibly display artistry? When did everyone sign on to your rather narrow and limited definition of "artistry"? H ey, does this mean all films with uplifting endings are hack films now? Man, I never thought I was so bourgeoisie! I must go now and update my favorite films list to include only films that threaten my sense of the world, because the rest are only hacks who want me to feel good!

The point Mr. Incredible was trying to make was that now he could have a real connection with his kids and the family shared a common bond, bringing them closer together. Being held back by society was making him depressed, now that he could be himself and do what he wanted he had a new joy for life. Even in the begining when he is talking to his son about sports you see Mr. Incredible get all excited because his boy got a chance to use his ability. Not every movie has to question your beliefs, especially a kids movie. This movie is about doing what you love to do in life and giving it your all. Also about family and how families need to learn to work together and find common goals to bond. I don't think you can knock the Incredibles for not having a good enough message. What about Happy Feet, that movie ended with you questioning your beliefs. Its become more apparent that seafood will probably be gone in the next 10-20 years unless something is done about it. I told that to a lady at my work eating some shrimp or something and she didn't believe me. You just being a I'm dark and moody and shop at Hot Topic too cool to see the real joy in Pixar movies. I'm sorry Pixar doesn't exsits to bring you down about what is wrong in the world, just watch any interview with John Lasseter he is like the happiest guy in the world. If you want to be all anti corporation because all they want is money, go knock on the Dreamworks movies. Yeah there is a lot of consumeristic nature with Pixar movies, but thats the nature of the beast and probably more of Disney's doing then anything.

I am all for more animation and all sorts of animation, personally I am jealous that I can't do it. But to be an artist and act like you need to reject the mainstream because you need art to change you then you should pick a better target then Pixar, thats all I am saying. But, hey maybe you know someone who worked/works for Pixar and they are not really as high on life as they like to come off, I don't know. You didn't tell us. Referring to others as "you passive consumers content in a meaninless existance" and equating our taste with being a corporate slaves kinda rubs people the wrong way, and know that it has nothing to do with your opinion of the films themselves or the subject of animation and art in general, the latter of which I have no doubt you have a great love for (yes I went to your site). You're skilled at art, obviously and I commend you for your achievements as they outstrip my own skill as an artist (I draw comics and occasionally dabble in both real and digital media), but think about working on how you present yourself to others when you do have differences of opinion. Good luck with your work.
