Early last month, Brett Ratner did an interview with MTV regarding BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.
A particular quote in the interview lead many to the logical conclusion that the new BHC project would have a considerably softer tone/rating than its predecessors.
When asked what is biggest challenge would be, Ratner seemed to indicate that his new film would be geared towards a very PG audience.

I rarely attend these types of events. Mainly because a studio gathers a large amount of Journalists into a room – they’re all shown the exact same footage and then you run to a computer to “BE FIRST” to post the book report retelling of what you just saw.
I suppose it is the job, it is the gig we’re all so lucky to have, but what about THINKING and CONSIDERING the footage, what was said and what it means to me as a viewer of said footage.
Let me gather up some of the comments I’ve found online, to get the overall sense of coverage from Fellow Online Journalistas…

Jason Statham reprises his role as Frank Martin in TRANSPORTER 3.
Olivier Megaton directs this time around (everyone should have a name that cool) from a script by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen (who wrote the first two films in the series).
The plot finds Frank wearing an explosive bracelet that'll detonate if he moves further than 75 feet from his vehicle.

The next time you turn on your XBOX, you'll receive notification of a "System Update" that'll install an entirely new dashboard/navigational/organizational "experience" into your system. This is called, simply enough, "The New XBOX Experience".
Stylistically, the throughline here = (essentially) Apple Cover Flow by way of Wii "cute"/"friendly" sensibility. An example:

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now, I've been a bit pessimistic about this movie... actually, that's not true. Being pessimistic would mean I feel strongly about it and I don't. The whole TWILIGHT craze has passed me by. I'm open for the movie working, but nothing I've seen so far has really struck me as being impressive. At this point if it's just not THE COVENANT with vampires and Kristen Stewart, the movie will be a big surprise for me.

Strangely, until I came across this information, I'd completely forgotten a second Eddie Murphy NUTTY PROFESSOR movie was ever made.
But it was (subtitled MEET THE KLUMPS), which I remember now...and I remember seeing it...and now I'm all kindsa disoriented...even more so than usual.

Hey, everyone. “Moriarty” here.
So... have you heard that Spike Jonze is making a film out of Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s book WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE?
If you forgot, you’re not to blame. The film was originally announced a few years ago, and then set for an October ’08 release, and then... well... that didn’t happen. And it didn’t happen for a variety of reasons, which all basically boil down to “it wasn’t ready.”

Hey folks, Harry here... in the Big Apple. Yup, I was here checking this very same footage out with my own pair of eyeballs and I have to say - it is looking EVEN better - and for the first time, I'm on Chris Pine's bandwagon. I'm very curious to see the rest of his re-imagining of Captain James T Kirk's beginnings. I have an early flight, so I'm going to crash, but I'll be writing my full impressions very very soon. For now - here's the Loquacious Muse, who did not come up to chat with me. Dagnabbit.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Lord knows my bullshit detector isn't great when it comes to early photos. I posted some early concepts of Heath Ledger as the Joker that, while accurate to all available information at the time, were fan-made.

By the end of the year, it is probable that the two 2008 films written by Etan Cohen - TROPIC THUNDER and MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA - will have grossed a combined $300 million domestically. In case you're wondering, that's nearly $300 million more than the total worldwide gross for his last theatrical feature, IDIOCRACY (which he co-wrote with Mike Judge).

Thirty minutes of WATCHMEN recently screened in UK, after which Zack Snyder and Dave Gibbons presented themselves for interrogation.
Among the topics addressed was the rumor that multiple versions of the movie's ending exist, and Zack (once and for all) settled a question that has troubled so many for so long: To squid, or not to squid?
Jack Carter was there, and sent in this report...
