This tidbit actually slipped through the cracks a week or two ago, but given THE DARK KNIGHT's immediate descent into, we thought this was still quite relevant.
Chin Han has been cast in Roland Emmerich's 2012.

Looks like Woody Harrelson will soon be accosted by the mentally challenged bombast of Roland Emmerich's 2012.
his character is a sort of modern version of the Greek Cassandra, a prophet nobody believes.

I bear Roland Emmerich no ill will. Without him, AICN wouldn't have its wonderful 'splodin' backdrop, humans wouldn't be able to outrun a cold snap, and mankind... (pause for emphasis) "mankind"... that word wouldn't have new meaning for all of us today. Emmerich has given us so very much. By brazenly melding the disaster cinema of Irwin Allen with the awe-for-awe's-sake aesthetic of 80s-era Amblin, the German-born auteur turned himself into a sort of substitute Spielberg.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm not really big on Amanda Peet. She just doesn't do it for me as an onscreen personality and now she's in a cast of extremely colorful personalities in Roland Emmerich's 2012. She joins John Cusack, Oliver Platt, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Danny Glover.
She plays Cusack's ex-wife, newly remarried as the apocalypse hits. Thoughts?

Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, and Oliver Platt are joining the cast of 2012, Roland Emmerich's most recent end-of-the-world happytime jamboree.
Glover will play the President of the United States - Newton his daughter, and Platt his Chief of Staff. The trio join the already cast John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. John Cusack wants to play in Roland Emmerich's big ol' exploding toybox. And he's not alone. It looks like Chiwetel Ejiofor is also in talks to join him in the end of the world flick 2012. A little more has leaked out about the flick, too, kind of confirming the Mayan calender aspect of it and that it opens with the world as we know it coming to an end. The flick follows the survivors.

Hey folks, Harry here... well it seems Roland Emmerich is taking 2012 to Sony for a release in 2009 and an automatic Greenlight. We know that there's a number of theories on how the world will end in 2012 - and in the latest release - we're told this is an ensemble disaster epic like... well, his other disaster epics.

Hey folks, Harry here... I've taken a lot of shit for a very long time for being a fan of Roland Emmerich's. There was, of course, the infamous GODZILLA incident where the premiere was so amazing that it rendered my brain mush, and I praised the bejeesus out of it - only to see it in a regular setting 48 hours later and decreed myself temporarily insane. But otherwise - I've been a constant fan of his work.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. That headline didn't mean Michael Bay is crazy... eccentric maybe, but not crazy. Not yet. No, I mean his next flick is going to be a sci-fi movie, an adaptation of Whitley Strieber's upcoming novel 2012: THE WAR FOR SOULS. I'm guessing they're only keeping the 2012 part of the title.
The story that Strieber (who wrote THE WOLFEN) came up with focuses on a scientist that discovers multiple versions of Earth exist in different dimensions and that all of them are doomed to perish in 2012, as predicted by the Mayans.
He has to team up with an alternate dimension self to figure out how to stop the apocalypse.
